Okay, yes, as my humble title would suggest, I collect vinyl, the round black shiny kind, goo-gobs of it. I know you’re all smart enough to know that collecting Vinyl does not make you a Princess, but I do love Vinyl. Vinyl is my life, actually (some might say the lack of one) and no one else was using the name. In addition to collecting Vinyl, I play it, I blog about it, and I work in a record store called Bob & Bob’s in Berkeley, California where I’m surrounded by it.

I live with my mom and a cat named Pierre who hates me and Suki, who rents a room in our house. It used to be my Dad’s office before he moved out… a while ago. He’s a drummer. He now lives in Santa Cruz, with Kee Kee, who listens to Dave Matthews and collects large, expensive, nervous horses.

A little bit more about me:

James Lipton, that strange guy on “Actor’s Studio”, asks every one of his guests the same 10 questions. I’m going to ask myself those questions in order to better acquaint myself with you:

1. What is your favorite word?
Vinyl

2. What is your least favorite word?
MP3 (is that a word?)

3. What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally?
Music. It’s my food, my religion, my life.

4. What turns you off creatively, spiritually or emotionally?
Christian “Rock”.

5. What sound or noise do you love?
A back beat, a nicely played guitar solo, that crackly sound a record makes when it gets to the end.

6. What sound or noise do you hate?
Angels singing.

7. What is your favorite curse word?
I like “Asshole” a lot. It always seems to get the job done. “Shithead” is a close second. My best friend Kit is partial to “Tool”, as in: “Man, that guy, what a tool!”

8. What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?
I’d like to attempt rock star but I doubt I’d be good at it. I’m nervous in crowds and I start to stutter like an auctioneer.

9. What profession would you not like to do?
Anything that requires a desk and a chair. If I had to do something like that I’d go out the window. I would also hate to work anyplace that plays light jazz because light jazz makes me want to kill myself.

10. If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?
“Keep Moving…”
